Substitute

A phantasmagoric mask-like bust. The artist turns to the classical form of the indoor sculpture — the bust, yet proposes the original solution for the artistic task. Using just a steel sheet, the sculptor forges the outlines of a human face.

The face remains blurry, delaminated, and flickering, however long we look at it. In terms of digital space, it appears as a mask, an avatar substituting a physical body and personality. Substitute is an illusion of presence, a virtual hypostasis of a person.
